What you get for the money
Mid tier, and the value is in the system rather than any single piece. Tape, channel, driver, control and connector all come from one manufacturer and are documented to work together, which is what saves time on a millwork or cove job. Trulux is offered in standard and HD densities and in several white and color-changing formats, so the specification decision is about density, CRI and control rather than about brand aesthetics.
Where it gets used
Kitchen undercabinet and toe-kick, cove and coffer detailing, closet and pantry, display and retail casework, stair and handrail lighting, and cabinet interiors. On the commercial side the PRIZM rigid linear and graze product goes into offices, lobbies and retail. The exterior sconces, step lights and floods cover residential outdoor and light commercial work.
Specifying notes
Get channel and tape matched at the design stage - mud-in channel has to be planned before drywall, and picking it after the fact means a surface-mount profile instead. Driver sizing matters: total the run wattage plus headroom, and confirm whether the project's dimmer is compatible with the chosen driver, since low-voltage constant-voltage LED does not work with every wall dimmer. For exterior and any damp location, confirm the individual product's rating - the tape and channel range is largely interior product and outdoor use needs an exterior-listed item.
