About Chloride
Chloride is an exit and emergency lighting brand that became part of the Genlyte Group in 2000 and is now sold by Genlyte Solutions, a Signify business. The line covers exit signs, emergency lighting units, architectural emergency wall units, and code-specific products for jurisdictions with their own requirements.
The range is deliberately wide in appearance and toughness, because emergency lighting has to go everywhere in a building. At one end there are edge-lit LED exit signs meant to disappear into an upscale lobby ceiling; at the other, NEMA 4X and wet-location units and vandal-resistant housings for loading docks, garages and stairwells. The ARC architectural emergency wall unit is rated from minus thirty to fifty degrees Celsius.
Two things make Chloride worth knowing on a specification. It publishes Chicago code and New York City code product, so a national account rolling out one standard across markets does not have to find a separate manufacturer for those cities. And the 44R edge-lit series and Value+ VLLU units bracket the range, which lets the same brand cover both the public spaces and the back of house on one order.
