Craftmade International was acquired by Litex Industries in 2011 and the brand continues under that ownership. What you get for the money
Craftmade sits in the mid/builder tier — the value is coordination across a whole house rather than a statement piece. The warranty tells you where the money is: fans carry a limited lifetime warranty against defects in material and workmanship, lighting products carry one year, and LED products carry three years, all to the original purchaser buying through a dealer. Labor, reinstallation, freight and commercial applications are excluded.
Where it gets used
Bedrooms, living rooms and great rooms for the indoor fans; covered patios, lanais and screened porches for the damp-rated indoor/outdoor models. The lighting side covers the standard production-home slots — foyer and dining chandeliers, island pendants, bath vanities, hall flush mounts and exterior wall lanterns. The fan accessory program (blades, downrods, light kits, controls, ceiling adapters) matters on sloped and high ceilings where a stock downrod will not work.
Specifying notes
Damp-rated fans are for covered locations only; do not use a damp-rated fan where it can be hit by rain. Two Craftmade warranty exclusions catch South Florida buyers in particular: salt-air corrosion within ten miles of the sea coast is not covered, and outdoor finish fading and patina change are excluded — worth planning for on coastal installations. Confirm downrod length for ceiling height, whether the model ships with or without a light kit, and the control type (pull chain, wall control or handheld) before ordering.
