About Dynalite
Dynalite was founded by John Gunton in 1987 in Moorebank, New South Wales, Australia, and developed DyNet, its own communication protocol, in 1989. It launched the DTK dimmer range during the industry’s move from analogue to digital control in 1991, and was acquired by Philips Lighting in 2009; the parent later rebranded as Signify.
The product set is controllers, sensors, user interfaces, gateways, system kits and accessories, positioned as wired and wireless space control that can run on-premise rather than depending on a cloud service. Design Studio and Pro Workflow are the commissioning tools, Dynalite Assist the support platform, and Array and Dynalite Cloud extend it. DMC2 and DMC4 are among its controller families.
What sets it apart on a hotel or a large residence is scope. Dynalite integrates beyond lighting — blinds, audio-visual and temperature control on the same network — so a guest room or a great room runs from one keypad instead of three. On a South Florida property where the glazing does most of the work, tying shades and lighting to the same scenes is usually the whole reason a client wants a control system at all.

What is Dynalite?
A lighting and space control system — controllers, sensors, keypads and gateways running on the DyNet protocol. It is Signify’s wired and wireless control platform, used on hotels, commercial buildings and large residences.
What is DyNet?
DyNet is Dynalite’s own communication protocol, developed in 1989. Devices on a DyNet network talk to each other directly, which is why a Dynalite system can keep running scenes without a cloud connection.
Can Dynalite control blinds and air conditioning as well as lighting?
Yes — it integrates blinds, audio-visual and temperature control alongside lighting. On a South Florida property that is usually the point, because shades and lighting have to work as one scene against the glare.
