About Flos
Flos was founded in 1962 and its Decorative division is based in Bovezzo, near Brescia in Italy. It is part of the Flos B&B Italia Group, a high-end design group jointly owned by Investindustrial and Carlyle, which also includes B&B Italia and Louis Poulsen. The company describes over sixty years of merging technology with emotion.
The catalog reads as a list of designers as much as products. Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni designed Arco, Taccia and Parentesi — Arco being the arched marble-based floor lamp that has been copied more often than almost any object in lighting. Afra and Tobia Scarpa, Philippe Starck and Konstantin Grcic are among the other designers Flos names. Taraxacum, Fantasma, Jucker, Miss Sissi, Mayday, String Light and Almendra fill out the range.
