Hubbardton Forge hand-forges its fixtures at a 100,000 square foot factory in Castleton, Vermont, and has done since 1974 — design, forging, finishing and shipping all happen on site, and product is made to order. The look is hand-worked steel: forged bars, hammered surfaces, deliberate asymmetry, with glass and mica shades. It is bought by architects and designers doing craftsman, mountain-modern, transitional and contemporary work, and by homeowners who want a fixture that is not a container import.
