Hunter has made ceiling fans since 1886 and now also sells decorative lighting, industrial fans and air treatment products. It is a Griffon Corporation subsidiary since January 2022 and owns the Casablanca premium fan brand. It is the default mainstream fan brand for builders, remodelers and homeowners, sold across the full price range from builder-grade to designer.

The core value is the warranty structure: Hunter states a limited lifetime warranty on the fan motor and a one-year limited warranty on all other parts, with light kits covered under the one-year term. Labor, bulbs, remote batteries, cosmetic blemishes and fans bought from unauthorized dealers are all excluded.
Where it gets used
Bedrooms, living rooms, family rooms and home offices for the indoor range; covered porches, lanais and screened patios for the outdoor models. Light commercial use covers restaurants, clubhouses and multifamily common areas. In Florida the outdoor-rated Dempsey, Cassius and Visalia models are the volume sellers because of the year-round covered-patio market.

Check the location listing on each model individually - Hunter's outdoor fans are variously damp or wet listed, and a damp-listed fan belongs in a roofed, protected position rather than open exposure. A location listing addresses electrical safety, not finish life: near salt water, finish maintenance is required regardless of rating and finish is only covered for one year. Low-profile versions exist across most families for ceilings under about eight feet, and remote and wall control compatibility is model-specific - do not assume a universal control will run any given fan.
