About Interact
Interact is not a fixture line. It is Signify’s flagship professional connected lighting software brand — a portfolio of IoT-enabled software suites that manage connected luminaires, sensors and other devices from a cloud platform. It is also listed as a Genlyte Solutions specification brand in Signify North America.
The named suites are Interact Pro, Interact Building Manager, Interact Space Manager, the Interact Workspace app, and the market-facing Interact Office and Interact City. Interact Pro is deployed in tiers, from standalone through gateway-connected. Interact Ready is the designation for luminaires, sensors and controls that are compatible with the platform, which is how a Philips, Color Kinetics, Day-Brite CFI or Ledalite fixture ends up controllable from the same dashboard.
What it actually does on a building is lighting management, asset management, scheduling, energy reporting and space utilisation data. Signify takes an open-systems approach with published APIs and a developer portal, states that it is the only lighting company certified for operational technology cybersecurity, and offers Interact through a light-as-a-service purchasing model. On a South Florida portfolio — a hotel group, a campus, a municipality — the argument for it is usually not the lighting control itself but the reporting a facilities team gets afterwards.

Is Interact a light fixture?
No. Interact is Signify’s connected lighting software platform. It manages luminaires, sensors and connected devices from the cloud; the fixtures themselves come from Signify brands and from any manufacturer whose product is designated Interact Ready.
What does Interact Ready mean?
Interact Ready is the designation for a luminaire, sensor or control that works with the Interact platform. It is what lets fixtures from several Signify brands appear on one dashboard rather than needing separate control systems.
What can a facilities team actually get out of Interact?
Scheduling and control, but the more useful part is usually the data — energy reporting, asset and failure tracking, and space utilisation across a portfolio. That is what justifies the platform on a campus or a hotel group rather than on a single building.
Can Interact be bought as a service?
Signify offers Interact through a light-as-a-service purchasing model. Whether that is available for a particular project depends on the scope and the term, so raise it early if the capital budget is the constraint.
