About JESCO Lighting

JESCO makes LED downlights, track systems, flexible and rigid linear lighting, cylinders, panels, undercabinet fixtures and lit mirrors, operating from Port Washington, New York with a distribution center in California. The catalog is spec-driven rather than decorative — the products get chosen off cut sheets by electrical contractors, lighting designers and specifiers. It shows up on commercial fit-outs, hospitality projects, retail displays and higher-end residential work where cove and linear detailing is part of the design.

What you get for the money

JESCO is mid-tier on price but specification-grade on documentation, which is the point — cut sheets, photometrics and a published warranty schedule per product family. That warranty schedule is unusually specific: up to five years on LED luminaires, power supplies and components; five years on low-voltage LED flexible and rigid linear including Bespoke CBF; five years on 120V INFINA 2.0 and INFINA; three years on electronic ballasts for Mini Fluorescent Sleek Plus; three years on JESCO-brand LED lamps; eighteen months on non-LED products; and ninety days on obsolete, discontinued and overstock items, which are final sale. LED linear products are treated as defective when ten percent or more of the LED components fail.

Where it gets used

Cove and perimeter details, under-cabinet and toe-kick runs, display and casework lighting in retail and millwork, and general downlighting in offices, restaurants and hotel public spaces. The linear luminaire families handle open-ceiling office and corridor lighting in direct and direct/indirect configurations. Fire-rated E-Series downlights are for multifamily and commercial ceilings where the rated assembly cannot be penetrated with a standard housing.

Specifying notes

Voltage architecture is the thing that trips people up: INFINA 2.0 runs at 120V AC and needs no low-voltage supply, while FLEX2, NPX and the S100 Series are 24V and require a correctly sized power supply and voltage-drop calculation over the run. Dim-to-warm is available on INFINA 2.0, and wall-washing beam optics are a separate INFINA variant from standard. The S100 Series is cataloged for indoor and outdoor use; for anything else, confirm the wet or damp listing and the dimmer compatibility on the specific cut sheet before ordering, because dimming performance on low-voltage linear depends on the driver and the dimmer being matched.

How it compares

How it compares
Nora LightingThe closest comparison — similar breadth in recessed, track and tape at a similar price, with a broader can-less recessed program.
WAC LightingOverlapping catalog with stronger decorative crossover and a large landscape line; comparable spec documentation.
American LightingFocused more narrowly on tape, under-cabinet and linear, often at a lower price for the same slot.
Juno (Acuity Brands)Deeper commercial recessed and track catalog with wider distributor stock, but less flexible on decorative linear detailing.

Common questions about JESCO Lighting

Is JESCO Lighting good quality?

JESCO is a specification-grade line with published photometrics and a detailed warranty schedule — five years on LED luminaires, power supplies and components and on its low-voltage and 120V linear products. It competes on documentation and consistency rather than on decorative styling.

Who represents JESCO Lighting in South Florida?

I do not represent this line, so it sits in this index for reference. The manufacturer will point you to the agency that covers Florida. If you are working on a job here and want a comparable fixture from a line I represent, send me the type and I will put an alternative in front of you.

Does JESCO have a warranty?

Yes, and it varies by product. JESCO publishes up to five years on LED luminaires, power supplies and components; five years on low-voltage LED flexible and rigid linear and on 120V INFINA 2.0; three years on JESCO-brand LED lamps and on electronic ballasts for Mini Fluorescent Sleek Plus; eighteen months on non-LED products; and ninety days on obsolete, discontinued and overstock items.

Is JESCO made in the USA?

JESCO is an American company based in Port Washington, New York with a California distribution center, but its products are manufactured overseas.

What is the difference between INFINA 2.0 and JESCO's 24V tape?

INFINA 2.0 runs directly on 120V AC, so it needs no separate low-voltage power supply and is simpler on long runs. FLEX2, NPX and the S100 Series are 24V and require a properly sized driver, with voltage drop calculated over the length of the run.

How long is the lead time on JESCO?

It depends on the item and whether it is a stocked or a made-to-length product — cut-to-length and bespoke linear takes longer than a stocked downlight. I confirm current lead time with the factory when I quote.

Quoting JESCO Lighting?

Pricing on this line comes from the agency that holds it — the rep directory shows who that is. Send me the project anyway if you want a read on the fixture before you specify it.

Why ask me about it

Thirteen years in lighting in this market, most of it on the distribution side and now on the rep side of the desk. I know which lines hold a spec, which ones slip on lead time, and what the substitution is going to be when value engineering starts.
