Lithonia Lighting is an Acuity Brands company and describes itself as having more than seventy years in the lighting industry. Its brand positioning is Best Value in Lighting, and it claims the industry’s broadest line of commercial, industrial, institutional and residential products — which, in practice, is close to true. On most commercial jobs there is a Lithonia number that will do the work.
The catalog spans commercial indoor, retrofit LED, downlighting, emergency and exit, industrial, outdoor, residential track and decorative, plus embedded lighting controls and wiring. Design Select and Contractor Select are the programs that matter to a schedule: both narrow the configuration options in exchange for much shorter lead times, which is why they get specified on fast-track work.
Controls come from the same house. nLight and nLight AIR are the wired and wireless control platforms, SensorSwitch and SensorSwitch AIR the sensor lines, and Reloc Wiring the pre-wired distribution system. Taking fixtures and controls from one manufacturer removes the compatibility question entirely, which on a South Florida commercial fit-out is usually worth more than the small premium it costs.
