About Lodes
Lodes is the current name of Studio Italia Design, founded in 1950 at Marcon near Venice and rebranded in 2020 on the company's seventieth anniversary. Any older specification, quote or spec sheet you hold will still say Studio Italia Design — it is the same company and the same product lineage. Lodes makes hand-blown glass pendants and wall, ceiling and floor lights plus modular and configurable systems, sold into residential, hospitality and commercial projects.

What you get for the money
Lodes is a premium European line. The price buys hand-blown glass, Italian manufacture and a systems approach — several families (MAP, DoubleZero7, Random, Puzzle) are configured to a room rather than bought as a fixed SKU, which is why it turns up in hospitality and architectural work as well as high-end residential. Collections are designer-authored and the catalog is refreshed rather than sprawling.
Where it gets used
The line is specified for hotel lobbies, restaurants and guest rooms, contemporary residential dining rooms, stairwells and primary suites, and office and retail interiors. Configurable families are used where a ceiling composition is being designed — long dining tables, double-height stairwells, reception volumes. Wall families like Puzzle and Nautilus are used as architectural surface elements as much as light sources.
Specifying notes
Lodes is Italian, so verify the US voltage, driver and dimming protocol on the specific reference before ordering rather than assuming the international spec applies. Because several collections are configured rather than fixed, the catalog name is a starting point — element count, drop length, glass finish and canopy type all need to be fixed on the order. Treat the line as interior unless a specific product sheet states an outdoor or IP rating; the collections page I reviewed did not publish IP ratings or an outdoor range.
