Pablo Designs is a San Francisco studio founded in 1993 by industrial designer Pablo Pardo, making table, floor, pendant and wall lighting with a minimal, engineering-led approach. Most of the range is LED with tightly controlled optics and mechanical adjustment rather than decorative ornament. Buyers are architects, contract furniture dealers and homeowners furnishing modern interiors and workspaces.

What you get for the money
Premium, but for design and engineering rather than materials excess. What you are paying for is optical and mechanical design - counterweighted arms, dimming built into the fixture, portable rechargeable models with real runtime - from a small studio rather than a volume manufacturer. The catalog is deliberately narrow and long-lived, which means spare parts remain available on older models.
Where it gets used
Home offices and workstations, contract and corporate office furniture packages, hotel guest rooms and lounges, restaurant tables for the portable models, and modern residential dining and living spaces for the suspensions. The Bola pendants are the piece most often used over kitchen islands and dining tables. Portables such as Uma and Lim get used where no power is available at the table.
Specifying notes
Most of the line is integrated LED with dimming controlled at the fixture rather than by a wall dimmer, so a task lamp does not need a dimmer circuit but a hardwired pendant might need its dimming method confirmed. Bola is offered in several diameters and finishes, so pin down the exact size and glass variant before ordering, since visually similar SKUs differ significantly in scale. This is interior product - do not specify it for damp or wet locations.
