A look at the range
A sample across two ends of the WAC line: decorative pendants, and the indoor/outdoor sconces that do most of the work on a South Florida exterior. Finishes shown are one option of several. I quote and order to the job rather than stocking these, so ask me for the current finish and lumen schedule before you specify.

What you get for the money
WAC is a mid-tier line with architectural credentials. It publishes a five-year warranty on its products, and describes its integrated LED fixtures as designed for 15 to 20 years of service life — which is a claim about design intent, not a warranty term, and worth reading that way. The value is that the same brand covers the recessed cans, the track, the tape, the undercabinet and the landscape lighting, all with published documentation, so a whole project can be coordinated on one order.
Where it gets used
WAC is used across residential new construction and remodels, retail and small commercial, and hospitality. The landscape range — accent, wall wash, walkway, in-ground and underwater — is directly relevant to South Florida properties with pools, palms and outdoor living areas, and underwater fixtures are a category most decorative brands do not touch. VENTRIX and the architectural range cover office and retail ceilings; WAC Home covers connected residential retrofits.
Specifying notes
Confirm the wet or damp listing per catalog number for anything exterior — WAC publishes indoor and outdoor tape as separate ranges, and landscape and underwater fixtures have their own ratings that do not transfer to the general outdoor line. Landscape work is low voltage: size the transformer against total connected load and run length, and account for voltage drop on long runs, which is where most landscape installs go wrong. For a salt-air property, confirm the housing material and finish on landscape and outdoor fixtures with me before ordering; WAC does not publish a coastal or marine-grade program.
How it compares
| Juno Lighting (Acuity) | Broader contractor recessed and track range at lower cost, with less decorative and landscape crossover. |
|---|---|
| Tech Lighting (Generation Brands) | A step up on contemporary decorative and low-voltage systems, with stronger designer product and higher prices. |
| Kichler | The main landscape-lighting competitor for residential work, with a much bigger decorative catalog alongside. |
| FX Luminaire / Hunza | Specialist landscape lighting brands to compare when the exterior scheme is the whole job and corrosion resistance is the deciding factor. |
Common questions about WAC Lighting
Is WAC Lighting good quality?
WAC is a second-generation owner-operated American company with a five-year warranty on its products and published documentation across track, recessed, tape and landscape. It is a dependable mid-tier specification with genuine architectural range.
Who represents WAC Lighting in South Florida?
I do not represent this line, so it sits in this index for reference. The manufacturer will point you to the agency that covers Florida. If you are working on a job here and want a comparable fixture from a line I represent, send me the type and I will put an alternative in front of you.
Does WAC Lighting have a warranty?
Yes. WAC states a five-year warranty on its products. The company also describes its integrated LED fixtures as designed for 15 to 20 years of service life, which is a design-life statement rather than a warranty period — the five years is the covered term.
Is WAC Lighting made in the USA?
No. WAC is an American company, owner-operated from Port Washington, New York since 1984, but its products are manufactured overseas.
Does WAC make underwater and pool lighting?
The landscape range includes in-ground and underwater fixtures alongside accent, wall wash and walkway lights. Confirm the specific fixture's rating and installation requirements before specifying anything submerged, and have it installed by a licensed electrician familiar with pool bonding requirements.
WAC vs Juno for recessed lighting?
Juno is broader and cheaper for high-volume contractor downlighting and track. WAC is the better choice when the same project also needs decorative fixtures, tape, undercabinet and landscape from one brand with matching documentation.
Quoting WAC Lighting?
Pricing on this line comes from the agency that holds it — the rep directory shows who that is. Send me the project anyway if you want a read on the fixture before you specify it.

Why ask me about it
Thirteen years in lighting in this market, most of it on the distribution side and now on the rep side of the desk. I know which lines hold a spec, which ones slip on lead time, and what the substitution is going to be when value engineering starts.
