About Gardco
Gardco was founded in 1961 in San Francisco and is now a Signify brand sold through Genlyte Solutions. Its reputation was built on specification-grade outdoor lighting — the company pioneered the shoebox area luminaire, faceted optics and true cutoff designs, which is most of the vocabulary a site-lighting photometric plan still uses.
The current range covers site and area lighting, garage and canopy luminaires, wall mounts, bollards, floodlights, poles and brackets, plus solar and landscape products. The PureForm family is deliberately broad: area, post top, wall sconce and bollard versions share one visual language, so a parking lot, an entry drive and a pedestrian path can be lit from one family without mismatched hardware.
That matters in South Florida, where site lighting has to clear the photometric requirements at the property line, survive salt air and wind, and still look deliberate from the street. Gardco publishes Comfort optics for glare control and Precision optics for efficiency, and its Service Tag QR system lets a facilities crew identify a fixture years later without hunting for the original submittal.

The standard finish is published at a minimum 1,000 hours salt spray resistance to ASTM B117, and the luminaire carries published BUG ratings and IDA Dark Sky listing at 3000K and warmer. On a coastal site that has both a corrosion problem and a light-trespass ordinance, that is two answers in one part number.
