About Finelite
Finelite was founded in 1991 by Terry Clark in Union City, California, and is now a brand of Legrand. The company built its name on architectural linear lighting made to order — the phrase it uses is tailored lighting, meaning the run lengths, finishes, optics and controls are configured for the job rather than picked from a fixed list of catalogue numbers.
The range covers linear systems, troffers, circular luminaires, perimeter and slot lighting, wall wash and accent, acoustic lighting, wet location products, curved sections and controls integration. The HP series is the backbone — HP-1 through HP-6, plus HO4, HPO, HPW, HPX and HPR — and it is common to see one project use several of them for suspended, recessed and wall applications so the light lines stay consistent room to room.
Two commitments matter on a construction schedule: Finelite publishes a ten-year warranty and a ten-day shipping commitment on qualifying product. For a South Florida school or office fit-out where the ceiling grid goes in late and the lighting is on the critical path, a built-to-order fixture that still ships in ten days is a different proposition from a custom fixture with an eight-week lead time.
