ConTech · CTL94 series
ConTech Gallery XL (CTL94)
The big one. A 5" cylinder in six wattages from 13 to 49 W, reaching 4,463 lumens, with a dual-lens optic that makes a true 8° very narrow spot and specular reflectors from 11° to 50°. DLC listed on the reflector models. An integrated rotary dimmer on the head, so one fixture can be trimmed without touching the control system. Standard, Xicato 95 CRI and warm dim engines. For the high ceiling, the long throw, and the wall too big for anything else on a track.

The head
Built for throw
Gallery XL is a die-cast aluminium cylinder, 5" in diameter and 8" long, five pounds, on an adjustable, lockable aiming arm that tilts 0° to 100° and rotates 365°. Two optical systems live in the same body: a precision dual-lens optic for the 8° and 11° beams, designed to put light on a target with minimal spill, and specular aluminium reflectors for the 11° spot, 22° medium, 41° flood and 50° wide flood. Two accessory slots on the face. Integral on/off switch and polarity indicator.

Read the table before you pick the wattage. The 8° very narrow spot stops at 38 W and 1,550 lumens, because it is a lens system with a small source. The reflector beams run all the way to 49 W and 4,463 lumens. If the job is a long throw to a small object, you want the top of the first two rows; if it is a wall, you want the bottom of the last four.

Colour
Xicato engine · 95 CRI
The Xicato 95 CRI series COB in the XL body, 13 to 41 W. The very narrow spot is only on the 13 W head here; everything else runs the full range. This is the museum configuration: a large head, a long throw, and colour that holds up under a curator.

Warm dim
3000K to 1800K at CRI 90
Two wattages, 13 W and 35 W. The canopy-mount version of this head is the one damp-rated fixture in the whole family, which makes it the answer for a covered outdoor dining room that wants warm-dim cylinders.

The knob
Integrated rotary dimmer
Order the driver as DI instead of D and each head carries its own rotary dimmer. In a store or a gallery that means a merchandiser or a preparator can trim one head against its neighbours from the ladder, with no control system and no electrician. ConTech's one rule: do not combine it with a track that is already on a wall dimmer. Pick one or the other. The knob is black on every finish.
This is the feature I point to when a retail client says their last track system was "too bright over there and too dim over here." The fix was never the fixture. It was that nobody could adjust one head without adjusting all of them.
The prefix
Which track it goes on
| Prefix | Track or mount | What it means on the job |
|---|---|---|
| CTL | ConTech LT / LT2 line-voltage track, Luxbeam, and Juno Trac-Master | The standard head. cCSAus certified as-is on ConTech track and on Juno single-circuit track, so an existing Juno run can take Gallery heads without an adapter. |
| HTL | Halo Power-Trac and Lazer Track | Same head, factory-fitted with the Halo insert. Ordered by changing the prefix, not by adding a part. |
| LTL | Lightolier Lytespan | Same again for Lightolier track. This is how a retrofit on old Lytespan gets spec-grade heads without replacing the track. |
| NCTL | Global / Nordic Aluminum 2C/2N (and 1C/1N, 3C/1N by adapter) | For the European-style multi-circuit track used on a lot of retail and museum work. 120V or 277V driver; 277V is non-dimming on the phase-dimmed heads. |
| OTL | ConTech O2CD 0-10V dimming track | Six-conductor track: two circuits plus a data bus. 120V or 277V, 0-10V dimming per head. The answer when the controls spec says 0-10V and the fixture spec says track. |
| C suffix | Canopy mount (monopoint) | The same optical head on a 4-1/2" canopy for ceiling or wall, with 0-10V available. No track at all — one head, one J-box. |
| RS suffix | Rigid stem | Track head dropped 6", 12" or 18" on a rigid stem, for high ceilings or to clear a beam. |

Questions
Questions about Gallery XL
How bright is the Gallery XL?
Up to 4,463 lumens at 49 W with the flood reflector, standard engine, 3000K. The 8° very narrow spot tops out at 1,550 lm at 38 W because it is a lens optic with a small source. The full grid by beam and wattage is on this page.
Is Gallery XL DLC listed?
Yes, on all models using the Spot, Medium, Flood and Wide Flood reflectors. The 8° very narrow spot and 11° narrow spot lens optics are excluded. If a rebate matters, stay on the reflectors.
What is the integrated rotary dimmer?
A dimmer knob on the head itself, ordered as driver option DI. Each fixture can be set individually from the ladder. ConTech says not to use it on a track that is also on a wall dimmer — one or the other.
Can I get an 8° beam?
Yes. The very narrow spot is a dual-lens optic with an 8° beam and 17° field, on 13 W through 38 W. On the Xicato engine it is 13 W only.
Gallery M or Gallery XL?
XL when you need output, a very tight beam, DLC, or the on-head dimmer. M when you need the widest optic range, the adjustable-beam head, 2-step colour consistency, or a smaller cylinder in the ceiling. They share engines and prefixes, so mixing them on one job is normal.
Does it fit existing Juno, Halo or Lightolier track?
Yes: CTL for ConTech and Juno as-is, HTL for Halo, LTL for Lightolier, chosen when you order. Nordic 2C/2N and ConTech 0-10V track are the NCTL and OTL prefixes.
Is there a wet or damp version?
The track heads are dry location. The canopy-mount Gallery XL warm dim (CTL94C WD) is damp rated, which makes it the family’s covered-exterior option.
What does it weigh?
Five pounds. Worth knowing on a long run of track with many heads, and on older track where the mounting was sized for lighter fixtures.
