The families
Four recessed families, sorted by aperture
Liton sorts its recessed catalogue by aperture and by how hard the optic works, not by market segment - a useful sort, because the first question on a job is usually how big a hole the architect will accept. Coloronix is the colour-changing line alongside these four, Dalume the miniature linear family, ModuLED the low-voltage module system.




C-Series
What the 6 inch sheet actually says
Liton builds the C-Series as a housing plus a reflector: the catalogue number is the housing and lumen package, then a slash, then the reflector. The reflector is not cosmetic - each finish carries a published multiplier that changes delivered lumens, and the table below is at clear specular, the 1.00 baseline.

Lumens and watts are Liton’s published figures from the CH6 cutsheet; efficacy is those two divided. CCT is 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K and 5000K, all at 84 CRI. Reflector multipliers: clear specular CW 1.00, all satin haze SS 0.90, satin haze SW 0.88, white WW 0.66; an all-black BB is offered with no multiplier printed. Cutout 6-3/8 in., ceiling thickness 1 in. standard, housing about 12-1/4 by 7-3/4 in.
The listings are what a plan reviewer reads: cETLus to UL1598 and UL8750, dry, damp and wet locations, NYC Calendar #41937, and conforming to City of Chicago CCEA-200. Liton states the sheet meets CA Title 24 requirements and that specific model and finish combinations are Energy Star qualified - the family filter shows 24 Energy Star items. Life is a minimum L70 of 50,000 hours with ambient below 35°C, and the warranty is five years.

Small apertures
P-Series at 1.5 and 2.5 inches
The P-Series is where Liton competes with the boutique small-aperture houses, and the Gen 2 2.5 inch is the current sheet. One housing takes five trims, round or square, flanged or trimless, so downlight and accent share a ceiling grid without a second housing family.

The 1.5 inch LRLD15 and LRXLD15 run 600 lm at 8 W and 1,000 lm at 12 W, 2400K to 4000K at 90 CRI plus a 3000K to 1800K dim-to-warm, beams at 15, 20, 40 and 50 degrees, on a 1-3/4 in. flanged or 2-1/8 in. trimless cutout. Same listings and same five-year term.

Cylinders and pendants
Where the downlight cannot be recessed
Concrete decks, exposed structure, wood ceilings and fit-outs where nobody is opening the plenum - that is where I move to the cylinders. Three cover most of it, and they differ more than the family photographs suggest, so read the location rating and the warranty first.

LCALD6Seven packages, 1,100 lm at 10 W (code 101) to 6,000 lm at 58 W (code 550), 2700K through 5000K at 80, 90 or 97 CRI. Published maximum centre-beam candlepower is 78,901 cd on the 10 degree spot, 12,296 cd on the 40 degree flood, 6,687 cd on the 70 degree wide. Body 8-1/8 by 6-1/2 in., under 8 lb. ETL and cETL to UL1598 and UL8750, dry locations, NYC #41937. L70 50,000 hours, five years, Assembled in USA.

DL4P3The slim architectural cylinder, spun aluminium with a TIR optic over a COB source. Four packages: 1,000 lm at 10 W, 1,800 at 20 W, 2,700 at 28 W, 3,600 at 36 W. Bodies 2-3/8 by 7 in. to 3-3/8 by 10-1/4 in. on a 72 in. cord, 2700K to 4000K plus ColorSelect, 90 CRI, beams at 15, 25, 45 and 80 degrees. Note before specifying: dry locations only, L70 35,000 hours, and a three-year warranty. The DL4C3 is the same package surface mounted.

LCALDJThe adjustable accent cylinder. The 3.5 in. runs 1,500 lm at 20 W and 2,000 lm at 30 W, with a 2.5 in. at 700 and 1,000 lm and a 5 in. at 2,000 to 4,500 lm on 20 to 45 W. 2700K to 4000K at 90 CRI, a 97 CRI option, 1850K to 3000K warm dim, beams at 15, 25, 40 and 60 degrees. It mounts to a 4 in. octagonal box, a stem, a cord, or track.
LumenPad is the flat, edge-lit surface and pendant option in 5, 7, 12 and 18 in. The IP65 VR version suits a garage or covered walk: 1,100 lm at 11 W, IP65, IK06 or IK08 by model. For a linear run, see architectural linear lighting.
Track
Four circuit configurations and three grades
Liton catalogues track by circuit configuration first: 1-circuit / 1-neutral, 2-circuit / 2-neutral, 2-circuit / 1-neutral and 3-circuit / 1-neutral. That matters, because a tenant space with one dimming zone and a gallery with three switched scenes are different track systems, not different heads, and changing later means new track. The heads then sort into three grades: specification for Apollo, CyloPro and ModuLED; architectural for Cylo, LumenPad, Saturn and Wallwash; essential for LT8 and LT5. There are also 120V PAR and GU10 heads, track packages, extensions and the SPA002 pendant-to-track adapter. Catalogue filters today show 150 items at 120V and 28 at 277V, 124 UL listed and 93 ETL listed, 65 adjustable, 19 with Casambi and 75 with IES files published.
The LTD8320 Gen 2 cylinder head shows what a current sheet looks like: 1,600 lm at 20 W, which Liton calls a 100 W PAR20 equivalent, 90 CRI standard with 80 CRI available, 2700K, 3000K or 6000K, beams at 15, 25 or 40 degrees. It runs on standard H-style 1-circuit and 2-circuit track with -2C2N and -3C1N connectors, and the sheet says it dims smoothly to completely off on incandescent and ELV dimmers. Three caveats: dry locations only, an L70 of 35,000 hours rather than 50,000, and a three-year warranty. Country of manufacture is not stated on it, so I do not claim one.

Housings, drivers and controls
The ceiling condition and the dimming curve
Most of the trouble on a recessed package is not the light, it is the ceiling. Insulation contact, a rated assembly, an air-handling plenum, a wet soffit and a shallow joist bay are five problems, and Liton answers each with a housing code.

Liton publishes no IP or IK rating on the recessed families: wet location is a UL location listing, not an IP number. IP65 appears on the LumenPad IP65 VR and the AG2 family, IP66 on Coloronix DarkLight. If a specification calls for IP65 recessed, I say so rather than reading a wet-location listing as an IP claim.
Controls are not spread evenly across a family, so I check the catalogue number, not the family list. On the 6 inch round C-Series today: 0-10V on 24 items, Triac on 19, 3-wire ELV on 19, Casambi on 17, Lutron Vive on 17, Hi-lume on 12, DMX512 on 12; the wider list adds DALI, Lutron EcoSystem and Athena node, UniDim, UniSense and BubblyNet. Voltage runs 25 items at 120V, 25 at 277V, 13 at 347V. The dimming low end is on the P-Series sheet: Triac to 7 percent, 0-10V to 5 percent on the UE-D10, 0-10V to 1 percent on the UE-D10P1. Emergency is an option code too - a 10 W battery at 90 minutes (-EM), a full-power inverter (-EMAC), a generator transfer device (-GTD). For coordinated room controls I pair Liton with Wattstopper sensors and panels; the dimming and controls page has the rest.
South Florida
Turtles, humidity and the energy code
Three things decide whether a Liton package works in Miami-Dade, Broward or Palm Beach. Here is where the line is genuinely strong, and where I tell people to look elsewhere.
Amber, and the FWC paperwork
Liton publishes an amber line and states a precise spectral output of 590 nm; the CH6 amber cutsheet says the LED colour is verified as 585 nm minimum and 595 nm maximum. Packages are CH610 at 300 lm on 10 W, CH618 at 400 lm on 15 W and CH628 at 500 lm on 22 W, with an all-black CR6L22BBF reflector, a dry, damp and wet listing, and the -TAM suffix. Ten C-Series items carry the turtle-safe filter. The FWC letter here is dated 17 July 2019, lists certificates #2019-061 through #2019-076 plus #2019-181 and #2019-182, and says on its face that it is valid for two years. No current status is published, so I verify the model against the FWC list first. See the sea turtle lighting code page.
Humidity and salt
The CH6 sheet is listed for dry, damp and wet, which covers a walkway, a lanai and a soffit, and -WL does the same on the P-Series. What Liton does not publish is a salt-spray hour count or a marine-finish standard - marine grade appears only as a filter with four AG2 items. I do not stretch an indoor downlight into oceanfront duty: the AG2 IP65 family takes covered exterior work, and a pole or facade moves to Gardco or the SESCO line card. Every sheet caps the recommended ambient at 35°C, worth remembering in an unconditioned attic plenum in August.
The energy code
The Florida Building Code, Energy Conservation, 8th Edition (2023) asks interior spaces for occupancy sensors, daylight-responsive controls and time switches under C405.2. Liton meets that through control options rather than a factory sensor - 0-10V, DALI, Lutron Hi-lume, EcoSystem, Athena and Vive, Casambi, UniSense and BubblyNet are all on the C-Series list. The Title 24 language on the cutsheets is California, not Florida: it says the driver holds a tight dim curve, it does not discharge an FBC-EC requirement. See the Florida energy code page.
Where it is made, and what the warranty says
Two answers a specifier will ask for, given plainly
Liton was founded in 1996 and its company page describes a 100,000 square foot facility near LAX at 5461 West Jefferson Blvd in Los Angeles, with sales, engineering, warehousing and production under one roof, and says Liton engineers and manufactures lighting products worldwide. On the sheets the wording is Assembled in USA on the CH6 and LumenCannon, U.S. Assembled on the P-Series. A BABA and US Made collection shows 42 items marked Produced in USA and 8 marked US Assembled. What is not published anywhere is a written BABA or Buy American compliance statement, a domestic-content percentage or a certificate - so on a federally funded job I ask the factory for a signed letter naming the exact catalogue numbers rather than relying on a website filter.
On warranty there is no site-wide page and the term is not the same everywhere. Five years is printed on the C-Series CH6 and its amber version, the P-Series LRXLD26 and LRLD15, the Lumenblast LHABLD6, the LumenCannon LCALD6 and the AG2. Three years is printed on the Cylo DL4P3 and the LTD8320 track head, and every sheet carries a 35°C ambient recommendation. No DLC listing is published anywhere on the site, so if a utility rebate is in the budget I say plainly that Liton is not a DLC play. Lead times are not published either - Ready2Ship and Quick Ship are named with no days attached - so I get a factory date in writing before it goes into a schedule.
One note on names, because it costs people time: the manufacturer is at liton.com. The domain litonlighting.com belongs to an unrelated design firm in Ludhiana, India.

The jobs Liton is right for
Multifamily and hospitality, where the C-Series 6 inch covers corridors and amenity spaces and the P-Series 2.5 inch trimless goes in the units and the lobby ceiling the designer wants clean. Tenant fit-outs and retail, where the CyloPro on track and the LumenCannon on a cable pendant handle a deck that will never be furred out. Restaurants and wood ceilings, where dim-to-warm and the 97 CRI packages earn their money. Renovations, where the remodel, shallow and fire-rated housings solve an existing building. Questions I get about Liton
What is the warranty?
It depends on the product and there is no site-wide warranty page. Five years is printed on the C-Series CH6 and its amber version, the P-Series LRXLD26 and LRLD15, the Lumenblast LHABLD6, the LumenCannon LCALD6 and the AG2. Three years is printed on the Cylo DL4P3 and the LTD8320 track head. Every sheet also asks for an ambient below 35°C.
Is Liton made in the USA, and does it meet BABA?
Liton is in Los Angeles and its cutsheets say Assembled in USA or U.S. Assembled. A BABA and US Made collection shows 42 items filtered as Produced in USA and 8 as US Assembled. But no compliance statement, domestic-content percentage or certificate is published, so for a federally funded project I get a signed letter from the factory naming the catalogue numbers.
Is Liton on the DLC list?
No DLC listing appears anywhere on liton.com and I do not claim one. If a utility rebate is in the budget, tell me early and I will price that line against a manufacturer on the DLC QPL.
Can I get one percent dimming?
On the P-Series, yes, with the UE-D10P1 driver, published as 0-10V down to 1 percent. The standard UE-D10 is 5 percent and Triac is 7 percent. The C-Series control list is long but not every option is on every package.
Does the amber downlight satisfy a Florida turtle ordinance?
The product is real: Liton states 590 nm output, the CH6 amber sheet verifies 585 to 595 nm, and an FWC letter dated 17 July 2019 lists certificate numbers by model. That letter states it is valid for two years and no current status is published, so before a beachfront schedule I verify the model against the FWC list and check the municipality’s shielding, mounting height and glazing rules, which are separate from the lamp certification.
