Birchwood Lighting is a Leviton brand, acquired in 2017. Leviton describes it as a designer and manufacturer of architectural linear luminaires serving the architectural, commercial and retail design communities, and states that all fixtures are made in the USA. The line is linear and nothing but: recessed linear, suspended linear, surface linear, direct and direct/indirect distributions, cove, wall graze and wall wash, and outdoor wet location. BW165 Suspended and BW165 Recessed are the workhorses, BWA250 Acoustic adds sound absorption to the luminaire itself, and Kelsey and Jake are available in RGBW color-changing versions.
The acoustic product deserves a mention on South Florida commercial work. Open-plan offices and restaurants with hard finishes have a noise problem that no amount of good lighting fixes, and an acoustic linear luminaire does two jobs from one ceiling element — which is usually easier to get through a budget review than a separate acoustic treatment.
