About Currey & Company
Currey & Company is a family-owned Atlanta house making handcrafted decorative lighting alongside furniture and home furnishings, founded in 1988 and grown out of a garden-furniture business. Most of its product is built at the company's own factory in the Philippines using natural materials — hand-forged iron, brass with a living patina, wood, shell, porcelain and stone. It sells to interior designers and through authorized showrooms.

What you get for the money
Currey is a luxury trade line. The money buys hand-forged iron, solid brass finished to develop a living patina, and genuine natural materials worked by hand at the company's own factory, which is also why no two pieces are identical. Currey warrants its products for one year against defects in materials and workmanship, with outdoor lighting fixtures carrying either a two-year or a five-year warranty depending on the finish applied — worth confirming per fixture on a coastal job.
Where it gets used
Currey lighting is specified for entries, dining rooms, stair halls and primary suites in high-end residential work, and for boutique hotels, restaurants and clubhouses. The natural-material vocabulary — shell, wood, iron, porcelain — reads particularly well in coastal and organic-modern interiors, which is most of what gets built between Palm Beach and Miami. Outdoor pendants and the cordless range cover covered porches, loggias and tabletop applications.
Specifying notes
Currey states plainly that variation in dimension, color and finish, reactive ceramic inconsistency, rubbed and aged finishes and hairline cracks in concrete pieces are inherent to handcrafted product and are not defects — so order a room's fixtures together and set client expectations up front. The company will not cover damages reported after installation, so inspect every piece before it goes up and use a licensed electrician on permanent fixtures. For exterior work, ask which warranty tier the specific finish falls into: two years and five years both exist within the outdoor range.
How it compares
| Arteriors | The closest direct comparison on price, trade channel and sculptural handcraft; runs a formal guest-designer collaboration program and publishes a five-year term on marine-grade lighting. |
|---|---|
| Visual Comfort & Co. | Broader designer-signature program and deeper architectural range, with wider dealer availability and a more classical average look. |
| Fine Art Handcrafted Lighting | US-made in Hialeah, Florida with a lifetime indoor warranty; more formal and glass-driven than Currey's natural-material aesthetic. |
| Hudson Valley Lighting | A tier below on price, cleaner and more transitional, and easier to specify at volume. |
Common questions about Currey & Company
Is Currey & Company good quality?
Yes — it is a luxury handcrafted line built largely at the company's own factory using hand-forged iron, brass, wood, shell and porcelain, and it is backed by a published one-year warranty with longer terms on outdoor lighting. The variation you see between two pieces is a property of hand craft, not a defect.
Where can I buy Currey & Company lighting?
Currey sells to the design trade and through authorized dealers. Ask me who the authorized dealer is for your area.
Does Currey & Company have a warranty?
Yes. Currey warrants its products for one year against defects in materials and workmanship, and outdoor lighting fixtures carry either a two-year or five-year warranty depending on the finish. The company does not cover damages reported after installation, so inspect before you install.
Is Currey & Company made in the USA?
No. The company is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, but most of its product is manufactured at its own factory in the Philippines.
Currey & Company vs Arteriors — how do they differ?
Both are luxury handcrafted trade lines in overlapping price bands. Currey leans organic and natural-material with a garden-and-antiques heritage and controls its own factory; Arteriors leans more sculptural and contemporary and runs a formal guest-designer program. Most buyers decide on look, not on specification.
Was there a recall on Currey chandeliers?
Yes, a limited one. On December 18, 2025 Currey recalled the Electra Chandelier and Electra Three Tier Chandelier (models 9000-1234 and 9000-1235), about 260 fixtures sold between May 2024 and September 2025, because the ceiling-mount connector was not threaded properly and the fixture could fall. The remedy was a free in-home repair kit with professional installation paid by the manufacturer. If you own one, contact us or Currey.
