Insight Lighting has been designing and manufacturing in Rio Rancho, New Mexico for over thirty years, and publishes both Buy American Act and Build America, Buy America compliance — which is rare enough on an architectural linear line that it decides jobs on its own. Over twenty families, indoor and outdoor: coves, grazers, wall wash, exterior linear, in-grade, projectors, cylinders and flexible silicone.

Buy American Act and Build America, Buy America compliance are published as company positions, with Argo Pro carrying the claim at product level. Insight references a compliant-products list but does not enumerate it on the page, so for a federally funded job the list has to be requested — that is a call I make, not a form you fill in.

The 85 percent humidity exclusion is the one to read twice on this coast. It is a live question on unconditioned exterior and garage locations in South Florida, and it is worth clarifying in writing before the line goes on a schedule. I would rather raise it now than argue it after a failure.

The Contra remote enclosure is published for dry locations only, with no NEMA rating, capacity or supported dimming protocols stated. On a Florida job that puts remote drivers outdoors or in unconditioned space, that is a question to settle before the shop drawings.

Who represents Insight Lighting in South Florida?
I do, through SESCO Lighting, in Broward, Miami-Dade, Palm Beach and Monroe.
Is Insight Lighting BABA compliant?
Insight publishes both Buy American Act and Build America, Buy America compliance as company positions, and Argo Pro carries the claim at product level with a BABA option. Insight references a compliant-products list but does not publish it, so on a federally funded job I get the list and the certification for your specific catalog numbers before it goes on the schedule.
What in-grade load rating does Insight publish?
Medley Ingrade and Medley Ingrade Direct View publish IK10 and walk or drive over compliance up to 5,000 lb in a concrete pour. Prospot Ingrade Large publishes IK10 and up to 6,000 lb, with a maximum submersion of 39.37 inches for up to 36 hours. All of them publish not suitable for permanent submersion, so none of them belongs in a fountain or on a pool shelf.
Does Insight publish salt-spray data?
No. There is no ASTM B117 figure anywhere on the site, and no marine or coastal finish option is published. What is published is IP67 and IP68 on the exterior families and a high durability powder coating over extruded or A380 die-cast aluminum. If the parcel is oceanfront I would get the coating data in writing before specifying.
Which Insight products have a turtle-friendly option?
Argo Pro publishes Turtle Friendly Amber as a static color, and Argo Media Dot and the Prospot line, including both in-grades, are published under the turtle-friendly page. Pilot Exterior, Medley X, Medley Ingrade and E5X do not publish a turtle-friendly amber option. Insight publishes alignment with FWC principles and guidelines rather than an FWC certification, so on a permit that turns on a certified fixture, ask me first.
What is the minimum dim level on an Insight fixture?
1 percent is published on Pilot Cove, Pilot Graze, Pilot Exterior and the Lutron Hi-lume drivers. 10 percent is published on Pilot Micro Cove and on D2 and D3. For every other family the minimum dim level is not published, and neither is a flicker percentage or an IEEE 1789 statement.
Does Insight make bollards or columns?
Not currently. Smart Column appears only under discontinued products, and no bollard family is published. If the job needs a bollard I will put something else from the card in front of you rather than force it.
