One Manufacturer, Whole Building: The Signify and Genlyte Solutions Brands I Represent
Downlighting, linear, area and roadway, landscape, exit and emergency, color-changing, daylight simulation and the control platform over the top of it — all from one manufacturer, on one submittal, with one company to escalate to when something goes wrong at closeout. No other agency in South Florida can put that sentence on a schedule.

What Genlyte Solutions is
Genlyte Solutions is Signify’s North American collection of specification lamp, control and luminaire brands. Most of the names in it are older than the collection: Lightolier goes back to 1904, Day-Brite CFI to 1923, Stonco to 1947, Hadco to 1953, Gardco to 1961, Bodine to 1962, Lumec to 1972, Ledalite to 1982, Color Kinetics to 1997. They came together through the Genlyte Group and then through Signify, and they are still sold as separate specification brands rather than as one catalog.
I represent that collection in Broward, Miami-Dade, Palm Beach and Monroe counties. What follows is what it covers, and where it does not reach.

What that actually buys you on a job
One submittal package instead of nine. A mid-rise with a garage, a lobby, corridors, back-of-house, a pool deck and a site can come out of this house end to end. That is one set of cut sheets in one format, one set of lead times to reconcile, and one revision cycle when the architect changes a finish.
One controls platform over the whole thing. Interact and Dynalite sit over Genlyte fixtures that were designed to be driven by them. Mixing three manufacturers’ fixtures under a fourth manufacturer’s control system is where commissioning weeks disappear.
One company to escalate to. When a fixture fails in year two, the argument about whose fault it is does not happen. And whatever I supply is under the SESCO guarantee: if there is a problem with a SESCO product that you specified or we supplied, we fix it. Period.
One color and finish conversation. Color temperature, CRI and finish selections are reconciled inside one house rather than across nine catalogs with nine ideas of what 3000K looks like.
Where this argument does not reach, said plainly
It would be easy to write this page as though one house answers everything. It does not, and a specifier can tell when a rep is pretending otherwise.
Decorative. The Genlyte brands are specification product. If the lobby wants a statement piece, that is a different conversation, and on my card it is Besa, Lumetta or Bock rather than anything in this table.
Hazardous and harsh. Classified areas, washdown and marine come off a different part of my card entirely — RIG-A-LITE, Appleton, L.C. Doane, Kenall. See hazardous location lighting.
Cooper Lighting Solutions is also Signify-owned, and it is not mine. HALO, Portfolio, Fail-Safe, Invue, Corelite and the rest sit in a different Signify division and are represented here by another agency. If your schedule says HALO, the parent company is the same but the rep is not, and I will tell you that rather than let you find out at buyout. Look it up on the manufacturer index.
The point of the single-house argument is not that it wins every fixture. It is that on the eighty percent of a building that is specification product, it removes a category of coordination problem that nobody budgets for and everybody pays for.

On the specification portion of a building — downlighting, linear, area and site, landscape, emergency and controls — yes. Decorative statement pieces and classified or washdown areas come from elsewhere on my card, and I will say so rather than force a fit.
Is HALO part of what you represent?
No. HALO is Cooper Lighting Solutions. Same parent company, different division, different agency in this territory. The manufacturer index will tell you who holds it.
What is Interact?
Signify’s professional connected lighting software — a cloud platform that manages connected luminaires, sensors and other devices. It is not a fixture line, and it was designed to run the fixtures in this same house.
Where is this product made?
It varies by brand and the brands publish it: Hadco at its own factory and foundry in Littlestown, Pennsylvania; Lumec in Boisbriand, Quebec; Bodine in Collierville, Tennessee; Color Kinetics out of Burlington, Massachusetts. Ask me for the current origin on a specific catalog number before you rely on it for a Buy American question.
